Aston Villa Could Sell Morgan Rogers
According to journalist Ben Jacobs via The United Stand, Aston Villa “are prepared to sell Morgan Rogers”.
This emerging news comes on the back of Rogers winning the UEFA Europa League final on Thursday (21 May). The 3-0 win against Bundesliga side Freiburg was capped off with a 58th-minute goal from the England international to seal the win.
Jacobs revealed that sources close to the player understand that “no one is going to stand in his way for a move”. Villa will play in the UEFA Champions League next season, however could be pressured to sell and balance their financial books.
Rogers is seen as the club’s superstar asset and is expected to command a fee of around £80m from potential suitors. Besides the Red Devils, Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested.

Can Rogers be Fernandes’ Successor?
Securing Morgan Rogers would signify a statement of intent for the club’s new era under Carrick. An £80m price tage is steep, but such is a price for a leading Premier League star.
Rogers possesses the flexibility to act as Bruno Fernandes’ long-term successor whilst accommodating the pair in the same starting eleven. As seen before Ruben Amorim’s departure, Fernandes has proven his discipline in a deeper midfield, which he refined under the Portuguese coach.
Moreover, Rogers’ ability to drift out wide provides an elite solution to United’s occasional lack of creativity on the flanks. The poor form of Bryan Mbuemo and Amad Diallo has affected attacking output in the second half of the season, and the Villa man is capable of being a game-changer.
An arrival would have to be a result of significant departures. Successfully finding a solution to the Marcus Rashford saga is the first roadblock. In addition, Casemiro’s departure has cleared a great deal of the wage bill already. It does mean that United can practically have room for Rogers. Whether the decision is taken to find Fernandes’ successor this summer is the other INEOS dilemma.
