- Man Utd ready to sell five players
- Marcus Rashford leads the exodus
- Three Reds could head to Turkiye
Manchester United are preparing for a busy summer and that will mean several players departing. Casemiro is already headed for the exit door when his contract expires at the end of June.
Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho are also leaving when their contracts expire. But it’s not just those whose contracts are expiring who are expected to bid farewell.
United will want to ensure they clear out any members of Michael Carrick’s squad who are not part of his plans. ESPN reports that the futures of five players are in doubt.
Five Man Utd stars up for sale
The report claims that United intend to move on Marcus Rashford, Altay Bayindir, Manuel Ugarte, Joshua Zirkzee, and Andre Onana. All four are contracted to the club beyond this summer but have little to no chance of continuing in Carrick’s squad.
Rashford has spent the season on loan at Barcelona with a view to a permanent £26m switch. The English forward is eager to join the Catalans, but the La Liga giants are reluctant to pay the buy option.
Another player loaned out for the campaign was Onana. The Cameroonian goalkeeper headed to Turkish side Trabzonspor, and United swooped for Senne Lammens, who is the undisputed number one.
Bayindir, Ugarte and Zirkzee have all been part of the Reds’ squad this season. But the trio struggled for game time and are available for sale.
Where to?
It seems likely that Rashford will either join Barca or at least head elsewhere abroad. A possible destination is Bayern Munich, given they were keen on Anthony Gordon before the Catalans signed the Newcastle United forward for £69m.
Onana might stay at Trabzonspor amid the Turkish club’s interest in signing him permanently. Reports in Turkiye claim that they have made an offer to the goalkeeper and the club.
Bayindir might also be heading back to his homeland with Besiktas. The Turkish goalkeeper has reportedly agreed on personal terms ahead of a proposed move.
Galatasaray are thought to be keen on signing Ugarte, which could mean a third United player heads to Turkiye. Reports in Italy suggest AS Roma are eyeing Zirkzee and have been for quite some time.
