- Man Utd add Iliman Ndiaye to shortlist
- Everton star under consideration
- His club’s fans feel David Moyes might sell
Man Utd are reportedly eyeing Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye as they look to bolster their wing options. The Senegalese attacker has caught the eye throughout his time with the Toffees.
According to Joe Thomas of Liverpool Echo, Ndiaye is viewed as a Morgan Rogers alternative. The Merseysiders “believe they are in a strong position to resist interest or at least dictate the terms of any business.”
Ndiaye was a standout performer for David Moyes’s side last season. He has three years on his contract, which explains why his club feel they aren’t under any pressure to sell.
Man Utd eye Ndiaye
United have headed into the summer transfer window with a clear focus on rebuilding Michael Carrick’s midfield. Casemiro is departing, and Manuel Ugarte could be offloaded.
That doesn’t mean the Reds don’t want to strengthen other areas of the squad. One of those is out on the left wing, where Matheus Cunha has become Carrick’s starter while Patrick Dorgu offers competition.
A new left winger might not be the priority but the club seem keen to explore the market for a potential option. Ndiaye fits the bill given his age and profile, posting six goals and three assists in 32 league games this term.
There’s no word on how much Everton value Ndiaye, but their fanbase isn’t as confident that they will keep him. Many of their supporters believe that if United do come calling, he’ll be sold.
One fan wrote in response to the report: “Strong place to resist? Have you not seen the Moyes interview about running off to chat with Fergy in secret?”
Another supporter said: “All they need to do is get Sir Alex to bell Moyes and they’ll have him for a tenner.”
One said: “Well, if they want him, Alex Ferguson can just summon Moyes and tell him it’s happening and we cave and all have a good laugh about it on a podcast…..Pathetic.”
Another added: “Moyes going to sell him to United, sign some terrible replacements who sit on the bench and be sacked Christmas.”
Ndiaye, dubbed “one of the best players in the Premier League”, has been with Everton since the summer of 2024. The Toffees’ lack of European football could play a role in United’s potential pursuit, given they can offer him the chance to play in the Champions League.
